Rebuild@Rundlett

ARCHIVED PROJECT:
Rebuild@Rundlett

Since May 2022, Concord Greenspace has advocated for rebuilding the new middle school at the current Rundlett site — a location that best supports smart growth, sustainability, equity, and fiscal responsibility.

When the School Board initially chose the Centerpoint Church site, we supported Rebuild@Rundlett as the stronger alternative. After Centerpoint was removed from consideration, we pivoted in good faith, hoping the Board would select a more equitable East Side location. But after thorough evaluation, the Broken Ground site fell short on access, equity, and environmental concerns — so we returned to our original position and continued advocating for Rundlett.

When the Board made its final decision in December 2024 to build at Broken Ground, we accepted the outcome — prioritizing the urgent need for a new school and the well-being of students. However, following strong public response and the 2024 ballot results, we reaffirmed our commitment to Rebuild@Rundlett.

We’re proud of what this movement demonstrated: how informed, organized citizens can shape public dialogue. CG3 will stay engaged and continue to hold leaders accountable for delivering on the promises of equity, transparency, and sustainable development.

Thank you, Concord. Your voice mattered — and it still does.
