About the Coalition

Concord Greenspace

The Concord Greenspace Coalition is a grassroots, all-volunteer group working to protect green space in Concord and to improve access to all.   We believe in enjoying the outdoors together.  We champion solutions for sustainable, green development.  We encourage community members to engage in local government.  We work to ensure a vibrant city and healthy natural world for generations to come.  Check out our team initiatives below!

OUR MISSION

This city belongs to all of us.  Together, we can protect green spaces, promote smart, sustainable development, and engage in a thriving local government that honors the voices of our vibrant community.

HISTORY

The Coalition was born in April 2022 when residents from all over Concord came together to oppose the City's longstanding Langley Parkway Extension Phase 3 plan. We called the movement "Parks Not Parkways".   The overwhelming response to this initiative inspired the Coalition to continue to protect and promote green spaces in Concord.  Currently, we have over 1000 blog subscribers and four different program offerings.  We're working with Strong Towns to become an official New Hampshire chapter.  Join us!

Change happens when ordinary people show up with compassion and courage.
